coach hire means hiring a coach with a driver to move a whole group between specified places, or keeping it with your itinerary by the hour. Flying Eagle offers 24/28-seat, 45-seat and 60-seat local coaches, plus 7-seaters, Mercedes-Benz cars and 16-seat minibuses, for schools, companies, airport transfers, weddings and staff/estate shuttles throughout Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the New Territories, outlying islands and Hong Kong International Airport.
Compared with separate public-transport journeys, coach hire lets the group leave and arrive together, with luggage and supplies on board and less risk of people becoming separated or late. Choose by passenger count, including teachers, leaders, photographers and other staff, without exceeding approved seating. 24/28 seats share one band and 45/60 another, so consider the larger same-priced vehicle near the limit.

24/28 seats: a choice for medium-sized groups
Smaller bodies help with narrow roads, estates and countryside sights. Suitable for department activities, family gatherings, friends’ outings, wedding parties and small school trips. Air-conditioned interiors offer comfortable seats, with racks on some models, though luggage space is less than in large coaches. Compare sizes in the coach seating, prices and services guide .
45 seats: popular for schools and companies
A common choice for school outings, team-building and tours, with spacious interiors, a separate luggage compartment, air-conditioning and microphone; some have audiovisual equipment for longer journeys.
60 seats: large groups and wedding departures
Suitable for large groups, company anniversaries, graduation trips and wedding banquet transfers. Some large vehicles use 3+2 seating, with substantial luggage compartments for bags and event equipment. They cost the same as 45 seats. Above 60 people, hire two vehicles.
16-seat minibuses, 7-seaters and Mercedes-Benz
16 seats suit groups of around a dozen; 7-seaters with driver suit families, airports and business; Mercedes-Benz luxury cars suit VIP and bridal transport. - Tunnel and parking charges are extra. An additional stop on the route costs $100. Waiting is limited to 15 minutes; exceeding this is charged as 1 hour.
No refund is given for cancellation within 24 hours.
Bus fare worked examples
- School outing: 45 seats for 5 urban hours, $380 × 5 = $1,900, plus tunnel and parking.
- Full-day company event: 28 seats for 8 urban hours, $320 × 8 = $2,560; 45/60 seats cost $380 × 8 = $3,040.
- Half-day Yuen Long outing: 28 seats for 5 hours incur an additional hour because hire is under 6, giving $350 × 6 = $2,100.
- Urban Kowloon airport drop-off: 60 seats one way at $1,050, including the Cross-Harbour Tunnel and bridge tolls.

How to choose the best value

Book a coach in 6 steps
Step 1: confirm passengers and itinerary
Count everyone, including staff, and list departure time, pick-up, destination and all stops.
Step 2: choose vehicle and hire option
Choose 24/28, 45 or 60 seats by group size, then one-way, return or hourly hire by itinerary.
Step 3: request a quotation
By telephone, WhatsApp, email or the online enquiry form , supply the details. Emails are normally answered within one working day. Book 3–7 days ahead, earlier in busy periods.
Step 4: confirm the booking
After accepting the quote, provide a contact and company/organisation name if applicable. Some services require a deposit.
Step 5: meet on time
The driver waits at the agreed place and time, with a 15-minute allowance. Notify us early of itinerary changes.
Step 6: pay
Cash in HKD/RMB, cheque, bank transfer, PayMe, FPS, WeChat Pay or Alipay. Corporate clients may apply for monthly billing.

How to choose a licensed and reliable coach company
Check the Passenger Service Licence
Coaches in Hong Kong are non-franchised buses. Operators must hold a Passenger Service Licence issued by the Commissioner for Transport under section 27 of the Road Traffic Ordinance (Cap. 374), and each vehicle needs a certificate. Unapproved services may lack valid passenger insurance in an accident.
Regular shuttle services require approval
Regular non-franchised staff, residential and hotel shuttles must operate according to particulars approved by the Commissioner for Transport. Enquire early for long-term services.
Insurance, maintenance and monitoring
All Flying Eagle coaches have third-party insurance and GPS monitoring, with regular servicing, repairs, safety inspections, cleaning and disinfection before and after use.
Seat belts
Enforcement of the statutory bus passenger seat-belt requirement has been deferred. For safety, wear fitted belts throughout.
Transparent quotations

How many seats should I choose?
Choose 7 seats for 1–6 passengers, 16 seats for around a dozen, 24/28 for around 17–28, 45 for 29–45 and 60 for 46–60. Include leaders and staff and never exceed approved capacity.
Does Flying Eagle have 65-seat or 66-seat coaches?
Our largest local coach has 60 seats. Larger groups can use two vehicles, such as 60 seats with 24/28 or 45 seats.
How far ahead should a coach be booked?
Book 3–7 days ahead, earlier around school holidays and festivals. Call about urgent transport; we will try to arrange it.
What is the minimum hourly coach hire?

What is included in coach hire?
The base charge includes vehicle, driver and fuel. Local one-way fare includes the Cross-Harbour Tunnel and bridge tolls; hourly tunnel and parking are extra.
Do Eastern, Western or Tai Lam tunnels cost extra?
Yes. For 28/45/60-seat one-way hire, Eastern adds $55, Western $110 and Tai Lam $120.
How long can a coach wait?
The maximum waiting allowance is 15 minutes; exceeding it is charged as 1 hour.
Is an extra hourly stop chargeable?
An additional stop along the route costs $100 for hourly service.
Is there early-morning or late-night coach overtime?

Medium/large coaches have separate compartments for suitcases. 24/28-seat space is more limited; choose a larger vehicle or state substantial luggage needs when booking.
Can I request a microphone, child seat or wheelchair arrangement?
State these when booking. Some coaches have microphones and audiovisual equipment; also mention child seats, wheelchair arrangements or bottled water.
Can a coach cross into Shenzhen?
Yes, using a coach with both registrations. Flying Eagle offers 45/49-seat cross-border coaches, 16-seat minibuses and 7-seaters. Urban Kowloon/Hong Kong Island to Shenzhen Airport starts at $2,000 one way for 45/49 seats.
What should I know about staff or estate shuttles?
Regular non-franchised employee, resident and same-origin/destination contracted services must follow particulars approved by the Commissioner for Transport. Enquire and arrange long-term shuttles early.
Which licence does a coach company need?
