Cross-border charter (also called cross-border transfer or vehicle hire) means hiring a vehicle and driver authorised in Hong Kong and the Mainland, travelling from a specified Hong Kong location through a land crossing directly to Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Zhuhai or another Mainland destination, without changing vehicles at the border. Larger groups may hire a cross-border coach , effectively taking a coach directly from Hong Kong into the Mainland.

For one-way Shenzhen Airport travel, a 7-seater from $1,100 with 6 passengers is around $183 each; 16 seats from $1,500 with 15 passengers is around $100 each; 45/49 seats from $2,000 with 45 passengers is around $44 each. Average cost falls as seating is filled.

Choosing a cross-border vehicle
7-seaters: a family and business choice
The 7 seats include the driver, leaving up to 6 passengers and approximately 4–5 medium suitcases. The album includes Toyota Alphard models; see Fleet photographs . Groups of 7 or more should choose a 16-seat minibus or two vehicles.
16-seat cross-border minibuses: medium-sized groups
Suitable for a dozen or so colleagues, extended families or small study groups. Luggage space and one vehicle simplify the whole group’s crossing.
45/49-seat cross-border coaches: larger groups
Suitable for team-building, factories, exhibitions and tours, with a separate luggage compartment, air-conditioning and microphone. Groups also travelling within Hong Kong can combine them with local coaches in one arrangement.

No refund is given for cancellation within 24 hours.

5 steps to booking a cross-border transfer

Step 3: request a quotation

Step 4: confirm the booking
Provide passenger names, contact telephone and any necessary document details. Some services require a deposit.

Arrive on time; waiting is limited to 15 minutes. Keep documents in hand luggage and follow the driver’s clearance instructions. Payment methods include cash in HKD/RMB, WeChat Pay, Alipay and bank transfer.

The rebuilt Huanggang Port opened at 06:30 on 12 October 2026 with 24-hour operation; Lok Ma Chau passenger clearance was suspended at the same time.
Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge
The bridge system is 55 km long, with approximately 42 km between the Hong Kong and Zhuhai/Macao ports and 24-hour clearance. There are no U-turns, petrol stations or toilets en route.

- Observe both customs authorities’ rules. Declare cargo or product samples to us beforehand.
- Weekends and long-holiday periods are busier; allow extra time when catching a flight.
- Opening arrangements may change. Check the Transport Department and HKeMobility before departure.

How to avoid cross-border hire pitfalls
Pitfall 1: unclear quotations and later charges
A low quoted figure may later be followed by overtime, waiting or other charges. Solution : confirm overtime periods, waiting calculations and cancellation terms, and retain a written quotation. Flying Eagle lists cross-border overtime and waiting charges in the Price list .
Pitfall 2: no valid dual registrations
If an unlicensed passenger vehicle is stopped, travel may be disrupted and protection limited. Solution : confirm the vehicle has both registrations and the driver has valid licences in both jurisdictions.
